nuvi 1340T’s intuitive interface greets you with two simple questions: “Where To?” and “View Map.” Touch the color screen to easily look up addresses and services and get voice-prompted, turn-by-turn directions that speak street names to your destination. The nuvi 1340T comes with preloaded with detailed City Navigator® NT street maps, nearly 6 million points of interest (POIs), 2-D or 3-D maps and the speed limit for most major roads. Its digital elevation maps show you shaded contours at higher zoom levels, giving you a big picture of the surrounding terrain. With the the Garmin Nuvi 1340T’s enhanced user interface, you can slide your finger to conveniently scroll between screens. You can also upload custom points of interest (POIs). And with HotFix™ satellite prediction, nüvi calculates your position faster to get you there quicker.

How does it work?
The Garmin traffic service uses a combination of cameras and authenticated feeds from reliable sources such as the highways agency, police control centres and urban traffic control centres to provide up to date and accurate information on traffic congestion. Traffic information is then broadcast over a national network of FM radio stations, ensuring excellent reception of real-time data direct to your Garmin sat nav.
As the weight of traffic increases year on year, and more and more time is spent in the car travelling to and from work, to the shops or on holiday, Garmin’s traffic service works to ensure your journey times are kept to a minimum. Using the most comprehensive, accurate and dynamic traffic monitoring network in the UK, Garmin’s traffic-enabled personal navigation devices come with free a subscription for the lifetime of the product, while compatible products can be upgraded with our optional traffic accessory.
